Global travel deals site () announced the launch of its local deals service in China.
The company said it will tailor its service to bring more lifestyle and entertainment deals that are relevant to the local market in China.
The first Local Deals trial from Lv You Zu was a success. The deal featured a deluxe two night getaway for only USD $236, at the Luxe Award-winning Les Suites Orient, Bund Shanghai hotel. In only four days close to 800 Lv You Zu subscribers purchased this deal.
The launch in China follows the successful launch of the company's local deals service in Australia, Hong Kong and Japan last year, which has sold over 133,000 vouchers and generated over USD $11.6 million in sales combined.
"We see great potential in the Local Deals business in China," said Asia Pacific's CEO, Jason Yap.

For the record-breaking luxury getaway at the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa in Thailand, subscribers booked over 8,000 room nights, which generated over USD $750,000 in sales, resulting in a complete resort sell-out.
The luxury getaway deal was also widely discussed across China's version of Twitter, Weibo, and was retweeted more than 3,000 times.
