Boy, I'd love to take credit for calling this prime piece of real estate to someone's attention when it was featured last August as a great space to rehab.
For now, I will accept that it was just time, after decades of dormancy, for someone to nibble. According to the Planning Board agenda for tonight, BDK Venture Partners, LLC (Owner) has been actively pursuing the location for what we hear will likely be a D'Angelos. Tonight the application and acceptance of a proposed amendment to demolish the existing gas station at 267 Main St., and to construct a 3,108 sf building for restaurant and retail use with associated site improvements will be heard.
That's very cool.
8-30-12 ORIGINAL VISION FOR VACANCIES BEGINS HERE: Given the size and shape of it, the former gas station at 267 Main St., at the corner of Prospect Street, would make a great little coffee stop, maybe a luncheonette (is there even such a thing anymore?)
After chatting with the mechanic at the H Daw service station next door, we learned that the property has been sitting idle for years due to ground contamination.
It's zoned as general business/mixed use, and could also be a medical office, restaurant, or retail shop, according to an old online listing we found.
A ReMax sign affixed to the exterior, next to some colorful graffiti, says the lot is 18,700 square feet.
What is your vision for this vacancy?
