In the wake of an overnight shootout that left one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects dead, residents in several communities are being told to "shelter in place" and MBTA service has been halted Friday morning.


Woburn neighbors of Richard H. Donohue Jr., the MBTA Transit Police officer wounded in the shoot-out with the marathon bombing suspects, say the 33-year-old is athletic and a runner — attributes they hope will help him pull through his injuries


Governor Deval Patrick has ordered that all MBTA services, that includes the T, commuter lines and buses, be suspended indefinitely as police search for one of the two men suspected of killing three and injuring more than 170 people at the Boston


During the pursuit, MBTA Officer Richard H. Donohue, 33, was seriously injured. One of the suspects was wounded during the pursuit and later died at the hospital. Police are searching for a second suspect, who is thought to be armed and extremely
